About the Job 
The Chief Technology Officer is responsible for all technology, including the development and maintenance of the company’s software platform, network operations, data management, security and risk management, and corporate information technology.

The Chief Technology Officer will balance their time across several key areas, including:
•    Develop technology vision, strategy, and roadmap in support of and alignment with the company’s overall growth plans
•    Collaborate with the executive team, in monthly, quarterly and semi-annual strategic and operational planning sessions
•    Coordinate with the product leader and program management leader to align resources, projects and timelines
•    Recruit, manage, and develop technology leaders and key engineers and create an environment for success
•    Represent the business unit, as requested by the CEO, during quarterly meetings of the company’s board of directors
•    Occasional travel to visit our Costa Rica office quarterly and attend technology conferences a few times per year
•    Regularly participate in team and culture building events such as dinners, happy hours, offsite meetings, etc.

Job Qualifications 
•    Undergraduate Computer Science or other technical degree from a top tier program
•    Graduate technical degree or MBA from a top tier program
•    10-15 years of software engineering experience at a commercial software or Internet company
•    Steady career progression from engineer, to manager, to VP
•    Gained experience with network operations, IT, data and security
•    At least one prior experience as the top technology leader in a $50mm-$200mm software company
•    Experience with venture capital or private equity investors and boards
