About the Hospital
Founded in 1948, our client has long been a part of the community. This 385-bed tertiary acute-care hospital includes an emergency department that is the Valley’s only designated trauma center, serving patients from the San Gorgonio Pass to the Arizona border in Southeastern California.
You can take advantage of a comprehensive array of services at our main medical center, including Emergency/Trauma Services, a Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Institute of Clinical Orthopedics and Neurosciences, the El Mirador Imaging Center, the Center for Weight Management, and inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation.
In addition, our client has expanded three of its clinics– the cancer center, clinical orthopedics and neurosciences and the imaging center – to the La Quinta campus, further extending our reach to the eastern part of the Coachella Valley.
Our client has received the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval, its highest level of certification, for its Advanced Primary Stroke Center and Advanced Congestive Heart Failure Program. The hospital also has the Coachella Valley’s only Joint Commission Certified programs in Hip- and Knee-Replacement and in Spine Surgery.

About the position
The Director has a 24-hour, 7 day a week responsibility to provide leadership for Emergency Services. This includes planning, organizing, staff development, performance management, quality fiscal and information management, regulatory compliance, building and enhancing relationships through customer relations, and appropriate professional involvement.  The Director is accountable for the management of the cost center(s) within the established budget.  The Director will work closely with medical directors, medical department chairs, physicians, and other disciplines to develop services and ensure quality. Access to all Patient Health Information.
Job Requirements
  • 5 plus years’ leadership in an acute care Emergency Department
  • Master’s Degree (MSN, MBA, MHA) strongly preferred
  • BSN required
  • Ability to lead a busy, complex ED
  • Deep knowledge of ED operations and ability to improve efficiencies and clinical effectiveness
  • Current CA RN licensure
  • ACLS, PALS, and CEN required.
