About the Job
The Executive Vice President and General Manager Early Phase reports to the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for the overall strategic leadership of the company’s Early Phase business.  The General Manager develops and implements business strategies that deliver business growth and a financial plan in line with the Company’s overall strategic goals. This is done whilst ensuring that relevant regulatory and compliance obligations are met.
 
Responsibilities/Duties
  • Manage all aspects of day to day operating activities of the business unit
  • Direct company operations to meet budget and other financial goals.
  • Lead short-term and long-range planning and business development to support strategic business goals.
  • Establish the performance goals, allocate resources, and assess policies for senior management.
  • Demonstrate successful execution of business strategies for the company’s services including continued development of scientific expertise.
  • Liaise with customers to develop strong strategic relationships and build long term repeat business growth
  • Identify opportunities for and actively support the nurturing of new business relationships
  • Ensure strategies for active engagement of the staff team at all levels to ensure a strong reputation as a local employer
  • Mentor and direct senior functional leadership to support the development of a strong leadership team
  • Manage site facilities to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and a working environment that is fit for purpose
  • Ensure that all operations are compliant with relevant regulatory requirements at all times
 
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or science discipline required together with a further relevant postgraduate qualification (eg MBA / PhD) or equivalent
  • Minimum of 15 years leadership and budget management experience.
  • Strong experience of the full range of a Phase I clinical research environment (Clinic and Bioanalytical Lab experience)
