Regional Nurse Manager
I. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Regional Nurse Manager position is a member of the regional leadership team. This position is responsible for managing Hospitalist RNs (HRN) and performance at partner sites across the region. Responsibilities include oversight, development and daily support related to Company core processes as directed by the regional leadership team.
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Accountable for the performance of existing sites and responsible for the implementation of tools and workflows at new sites, based on the findings of the site assessment and the recommendations of the regional leadership team.
1) Regional Performance Management:  Participate in the assessment, development and implementation of Company’s core processes. Manage site performance post implementation.
2) Implementation of tools and workflows at sites: Based on site assessment findings and/or the role out of Company’s Clinical Initiatives, determine appropriate tools, workflows, and education for sites.
3) HRN Oversight: Hire, orient, develop, mentor, support, and review performance of Hospitalist RNs in the assigned region
4) Provide Subject Matter Expertise: Deliver customized solutions and performance improvement initiatives for our hospital partners in specific areas of expertise as requested by the regional leadership team and/or the Performance Management team .
III. SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, TRAINING, OR SPECIAL LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS NEEDED TO PERFORM YOUR JOB:
  • Education or experience in a defined field of expertise (e.g., quality, patient satisfaction, transition of care)
  • Leadership skills in the support and mentoring of RNs, both remotely and on-site
  • Strong clinical skills
  • Knowledge of and adherence to guidelines and pathways
  • Knowledge of process improvement techniques and strategies
  • Excellent organizational abilities
  • Ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels (executive leadership, patients, physicians, hospital staff, other colleagues)
  • Strong interpersonal skills in handling sensitive situations and confidential information. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, diplomacy, and good judgment.
IV. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Education: Minimum BSN;  Preferred: BSN plus Master’s level education
Experience: Minimum: Two years critical care nursing experience, plus one year of supervisory experience.
Preferred: Five years critical care nursing experience, plus two or more years in a management-level role. Knowledge of case management.
