Serves as a clinical expert for patient care and services for the unit by providing clinical leadership support.  The Clinical Leader provides nursing care to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration.
 
Responsibilities/Duties
  • Provides clinical and analytical support to the perioperative leadership to plan and predict patient care needs based on quality benchmarking, patient acuity/care trends, staff clinical education needs and patient satisfaction. 
  • Provides leadership to ensure excellence in education and practice. 
 
Job Requirements
  • BSN / MSN Required  (Consideration will be given to those currently enrolled in formal education to obtain MSN)
  • Minimum of two years professional nursing practice experience Surgical Services
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills with knowledge and application of advanced professional nursing practice, CQI process, nursing care delivery models, health care delivery systems, and budgetary process.
  • Demonstrable autonomous and accountable nursing practice with strong patient care outcomes management skills and excellent interpersonal relationship (IPR) skills. 
  • Demonstrable leadership in patient care and unit based outcomes. 
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to influence excellence in patient care.
